About the venue
The Olympic Stadium is a new structure with construction scheduled to be complete in 2011. The stadium will have a capacity of 80,000 during the Games and is designed to be restructured for use after the Games.
It is located on an ‘island’ site, surrounded by waterways on three sides. Spectators will reach the venue via five bridges that link the site to the surrounding area.
